Archimedes' Principle Helps Students Float

On Friday, Feb. 24, this year’s accelerated physics students continued the yearly tradition of building boats from cardboard and racing them across the PHS pool.
The purpose of making cardboard boats is to apply Archimedes’ Principle for making a boat. “The point was to make the smallest possible boat that will keep afloat for 100 yards,” said physics teacher, Mr. Paul Krzyzaniak.

Solo and Ensemble Events Head to State

With a total of 56 events continuing to state, this year’s Solo and Ensemble had great expectations. Last year, there were 54 events, both band and choral, that continued to state.
“I thought the comfort was there [for the accomplishments], as opposed to the last time. It was a great improvement, and I’m glad we got to accomplish that,” stated senior Genna Langum. read more
