Brown’s The Lost Symbol disappointing, grammatical nightmare

Blink 182 reunion excites some and impresses most


   Though most people love to listen to music, not everyone tuned in to watch the 51st Grammy Awards that took place on February 8, 2009.  What was different about this year’s award ceremony was that band Blink 182, who hasn’t been seen on stage together for five years, presented an award together.  It was there that drummer Travis Barker announced that the band had decided to play together again.  Over the screaming fans, bassist Mark Hoppus exclaimed, “Blink is back!” read more

Thirst helps feed the vampire craze; add new twist
   It seems that these days are jam packed with vampires.  What started with the book series Twilighthas led to TV shows such as True Blood, Vampire Diaries and countless new books such as the House of Night series,Peeps, Vampire Academy and many others.  Though these examples are not the first of their kind (Interview with a Vampire or Buffy the Vampire Slayer anyone?), vampires are much more popular than they used to be.  However, when it comes to vampire books, select novels standout from the crowd.  Thirst is a compilation of Christopher Pike’s first three novels in The Last Vampire series.  The book includes The Last Vampire,Black Blood and Red Dice. read more
