NHS Raises Money Through the Sadie Hawkins Dance


In an attempt to raise money for graduation tassels, the National Honor Society (NHS) held a semiformal Sadie Hawkins Dance. The dance was devised and organized by senior Jean Brody. It took place on June 1 and started at 8p.m. As this was the first Sadie Hawkins Dance for PHS, NHS adviser Jack Daniels was pleased with the profit of $1,200. read more

President Bush Signs New War-Spending Bill into Law


Since combat operations for the Iraq war cost $2 billion per week, the president wanted congress to pass legislation to fund the war. The initial legislation, known as the war-spending bill, provided $124 billion towards the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and other military funding. The bill also set a timetable for the withdrawal of combat troops. After President George Bush vetoed this legislation, another version of the bill was created to replace it. read more


STAND Visits Sheboygan


Many teens are members on Facebook and use it appropriately; they watch what their friends are doing, comment on “gross” pictures of themselves, and leave each other pointless gifts such as a sandwich. However, Nora Bryne and Anna Jean Peterson use it to raise awareness of a very important issue—the Darfur genocide. read more

Mrs. Nelson’s Final Year at PHS


After 32 years of teaching, PHS German teacher, Nelson, is retiring from teaching. Nelson said, “I’m ready to retire, I want to do some other things.” read more

 

 

 


Mrs. Peterson Retires
